Study the traits of successful people and emulate them

Successful people

What are the traits of successful people? This question has been asked for decades and many books have been written on this interesting topic.

When you think of success, you immediately think of certain people. Perhaps they are individuals such as Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Mukesh Ambani or Amitabh bachchan. However, the frenzy around these people can be so loud that you become confused about what it takes to be successful.

While each successful person takes a different approach. There are many common patterns that can be discovered by reading their books, watching interviews and lectures.

This article will help you understand what separates success from failure, guiding you toward your own goals. Here I am sharing 7 things successful people do.

1. Growth Mindset

Growth mindset

According to Carol Dweck’s research, people with growth mindsets are more likely to succeed. The growth mindset increases one’s motivation, willingness, and overall foundation of belief in order to achieve bigger and better results. Our beliefs, conscious or unconscious, can either push us to become better or hold us back from making progress.

Growth-oriented people understand that the harder they work, the more persistence, and positive attitude in the face of adversity, the more successful they will be.

Fortunately, as long as you are aware of your personal growth and determined to change your mindset, your behaviors will not remain static. Begin with simple traits such as changing bad habits and focusing on the process rather than the results. Sometimes the key to success is overcoming a problem rather than giving up on it.

2. Focused on area of expertise

area of expertise

I read about specialized knowledge from the Book “Think and Grow Rich”. When I compared what is said in books with really successful people; I found it relevant.

It’s good to know everything, but it’s better to be a master in a particular skill set; that is your expertise.

Napoleon identifies two types of knowledge: specialized and general. Understanding the differences between the two is essential. In public schools and universities, general knowledge is taught. However, specialization is gained through experience or mentoring.

Focus on becoming an expert in a sector where you will be referred to as the go-to person.

3. Role Models

Role models

Having role models in our lives is extremely important, and having good role models is even more important. Because they influence what we do and how we eventually turn out.

Positive role models have an impact on our actions and inspire us to strive to discover our true potential and overcome our weaknesses.

All great leaders, athletes, and achievers have one thing in common. They all had positive role models whom they tried to emulate in some way and eventually outperformed.

Read Biographies, Parents & grandparents are your early role models learn from their lives, from their stories. Have multiple role models for specific fields for health, for life guidance, for business; you can learn a lot from your role models.

4. Passion

Passion

Every passionate person may not achieve that level of success until other practical aspects align. But every successful person you will encounter is extremely passionate about what they do, and this is not by chance.

People are more resilient when faced with obstacles when they are filled with enthusiasm and passion. People who are passionate about what they do, rather than just “in it for the money,” tend to have more positive outlooks and are better at problem-solving.

Furthermore, the more enthusiastic a person is about their job, the more likely they are to work hard on self-improvement, increasing their chances of success.

Get passionate about what you do or do what you are passionate about. By doing this you will be one step closer to a magnificent success.

5. Not Afraid of Failing

Not afraid of failing

One thing every great success had is failure and not once but many failure and then they arrived at the success. To arrive at the success one needs to be brave enough to handle failures.

According to a recent survey conducted by social media, 31% of the 1,083 adults surveyed feel depressed because of the fear of failure.

People frequently cite fear of failure as a reason for not taking action or making necessary changes to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.

Successful people fail all the time but they aren’t afraid of trying. They consider the cost of doing nothing, they focus on how great it will be when they succeed even make a backup plan if things go wrong. So take the necessary steps toward your goals.

6. Believe in self improvement

Self improvement for successful people

A desire for success is accompanied by a desire for self-improvement.

Self-improvement allows you to develop in a variety of ways. It can help you develop new beliefs and discover new and better ways of doing things. Growing in these and other ways provides you with the tools you need to succeed in other areas of your life.

Because no perfect being exists, everyone must make do with some degree of self-improvement. Self-improvement is essential to being the best person you can be and living a successful life.

Success is not determined by the approval of others. It is determined by your own beliefs. The important thing is whether you think you have succeeded.

Through self-improvement practice, you can gradually learn to live your life as an individual who does not judge their success by any other standard than their own.

7. Extraordinary Willpower

Extraordinary willpower

I’ve always found that avoiding something simply because you’re not comfortable with it turns it into a monster. Overcoming that fear requires a lot of willpower and success requires you to show your willpower.

Willpower has an impact on every aspect of your life. It can help you with everything from exercising to saving money. In fact, willpower may be more important than IQ in predicting success.

A lot depends on your ability to resist the urge. Your willpower influences everything you do. Your choices and your willpower determine every thought and every word you think or say.

Willpower is a beast to which you must pay attention. The more self-control you can develop, the easier it will be to gain confidence. You will realize that you can remain the person you want to be in the face of temptation.

Conclusion: Every individual possesses the necessary elements for success; it is simply a matter of acquiring the qualities described in the article to truly win your life.

Here’s a way how to achieve your goals faster

Achieve goals faster

Are you working towards a specific goal? Do you want to achieve your goals faster?

According to a survey, only 4% of people in the world have goals. Isn’t it surprising?

So, if you have a goal, then certainly you are in these 4% and the possibility is absolutely there that you will eventually achieve it as well.

The two important questions are why the majority of people don’t have goals. Aren’t they working towards something they really want? Absolutely they are, but their idea of goal is so general and unrealistic that it isn’t a goal itself.

Another thing is how to check if the goals we are working towards are right for us? And how to make things faster…

I have been a keen observer and curious learner about how people actually set and achieve their goals and you will be surprised to know mostly the goals people set aren’t theirs but from the environment (parents, teachers, social media).

Goal Quote by Romil

Think of the goal you are working towards and where it came from and you will understand what I am saying.

There is absolutely no problem if a goal reference is from external, but if it is not validated by your side to match your vision, then possibly you will give up or even after achieving those goals you won’t feel happy.

Here I am sharing 4 steps to set the right goals and achieve your goals faster.

A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement.”

— Bo Bennett

1. Write Your Goals

Write your goals

Our mind by nature is very fluctuating. One moment you have one thought, another moment it’s different. And if the same is applied to our goals, it will be challenging to set goals.

Had it happened to you that you changed your goal many times and were finally confused about what to do?

If you want to achieve any goal, you need to be dedicated to that specific goal for a longer time. It needs patience, it needs determination and, more than that, you need to select the right goal.

What can be a better way than writing it down?

According to a survey, only 3% of people were able to actually achieve their goals because these people write their goals. Writing goals increase your chance by 42% that you will achieve them.

Very simple and effective technique: For the next seven days, write down your seven goals for the day, with a twist. You are not required to refer to previous goals when writing your goals (this is important).

On the eighth day, go through all of your goals and just tick the ones you’ve done the most. Choose the top three goals. Without a doubt, these are the objectives you should strive for.

2. Clarity of goal

Clarity of goal

You have cleared the first crucial step, now you have selected 3 goals you want to be dedicated towards.

Perhaps you have had similar experiences. Can you recall what triggered you to give up a goal?

Yes, its failure or less result than you expected. Can you relate?

Many people are familiar with what they want to achieve but they don’t know why they want to achieve it. The clarity is lacking, the purpose is missing and, because of that, many leave their goals.

One thing you will notice in people who achieve great things is that they are purpose-driven. In the worst of the scenarios, they don’t let their goals die and work towards them until they achieve it.

Do you want to be in the same category?

Ask yourself why you selected your goal and think deeply; see how it impacts your life, others life, what will happen if that goal is achieved. The stronger and deep your purpose is stronger possibility of achieving it and I assure you will find your way.

3. Context Based Learning

Context Learning

We all have dreams that we wish we could easily achieve, and the reason why few people are able to do so is simple because it is not so easy.

So, Context Based learning is something we use to achieve our goals and it really works.

Steps 1 – Learn the Concept: If I want to be a singer, can I go to a national competition and win? Not until I learn the basics, how to sing, how to hold breath for a long time. This is crucial and foundation.

Step 2 – Implementation: Learned and not implementation is equal to no results. So what you learn is important to be implemented in your life.

Step 3 – Get feedback from Expert: No matter where you want to go, you need someone to look up to as a role model. If possible, get coaching from them as well; their feedback can be extremely beneficial. You can still succeed without a coach, but it will take more effort and time.

Step 4 – Work on Feedback: The feedback from coaches and learned people should be implemented and observed to see how you approach your goals with success.

4.Track your goals

Track your goals

It is easier to set goals, but until we track them, we can’t be able to monitor our progress and until we monitor, we can’t improve and reaching goals might just remain a dream.

Tracking goals allows you to determine what works and what does not, allowing you to eliminate what does not work and implement what does work, making the journey more enjoyable.

You can track and evaluate your progress at any time to see if you’re still on track or if you need to reassess and make changes. Small improvements in individual metrics add up, allowing you to check off performance goals as you go, eventually leading you to your end goal.
